REMEMBERING PAST POETS..NINTH GRADERS

Last Friday it was OUR day...TEACHERS' DAY, they say...
but I wonder if it should be in honor of us or YOU...

If students give us ALL!

Laughs, tears, doubts, sleepy eyes, raising hands and distracted faces...
wonder why I became one...

A teacher to teach or to be taught or just to grow and walk on your side...
Tying hands reaching a GOAL...

Let's learn together and give what you need !
Teachers and students only ONE WORLD ...because knowledge is not ALL!!

Today I had a flashback... maybe it is just nostalgia or I am reflecting over my role as a teacher. But... Is it easy to become a REAL ONE? Have I done a good job... have I gone even beyond? Do my students remember me or my teaching experiences as well as I do? I remember I started having a DREAM years ago... Although I did not know anything about TICs, I knew something missing to appeal you! That's why I get in your feet, and remembered when I was YOU...boring classes, boards fulfilled, TEACHER, PLEASE, let me BE!

Suddenly, here it is! My Poem Book ... you helped me make this dream come true.
Now I realize I must honor my muse, students and
colleagues helped a lot. Thus, it is today to thank you for your work.

Special Thanks to...

"My students who made this dream real.
To those teachers who shared their thoughts and dreams
with us.
They also wrote their own poems and made beautiful drawings to illustrate my book ... Adolfo Beltran, Damaris Cuestas, Lilia González, Claudia Torres and César Valbuena. Although not all are still in the school, their hands, a God's gift, gave our poems life! Students, Art and English in an integrated TEAMWORK!" (Taken from My poem Book , From my Sentimental WINDOW, 2002)

And then, 2006 - 2007 and another challenging work came. My MUSES are now in Ninth grade... how much time has passed, but I still remember them!! Their dreams, fear and thoughts maybe have changed or just another goal they got!! Below you can find some of their poems, too. I hope you read them. It is worth!
